Towards the Pet Cemetry

A view of the rear of Stanmer House from days gone by. Mickey’s final resting place, The Pleasure Ground’s Pet Cemetry is located further uphill and out of sight in this image.

The Pleasure Garden’s Pet Cemetery

A wonderful story by the late Doris Williams, illustrated by Charlie Yeates. Tells of the final resting place of Mickey, the Mason family dog who was tragically killed by a tank at Stanmer in 1941. The Pet Cemetry of the Pelham’s of Stanmer House became the last resting place for Mickey; a beloved dog of Alfred Mason, Head Gardener and his children.
