Robin’s Pincushion:- A spherical fibrous growth found on the Dog Rose. Caused by larva of the gall wasp which live in the hardened centre of the gall. Rather common it is green at first acquiring its reddish tint with maturity in autumn. This photo was taken in 2010 near Lot’s Pond.
