Wildlife

Stanmer Park is home to a spectacular range of wildlife: birdlife, such as buzzards, kestrels and owls, mammals such as foxes, badgers and deer, insect life, many species of fungi, chalkland plants such as orchids and cowslips, and a large variety of other wildlife. Together with the Brighton & Hove rangers, we created a Nature Trail, marked by 10 numbered sarsen stones, starting on the green by the church pond, through the easy-access path in the woods and round back into Stanmer village.

Stanmer Preservation Society is an active member of the Brighton & Hove Wildlife Forum and the Brighton Downs Alliance.
