29 October 11-3pm Stanmer village: Feed the Birds day-- make a feeder to take home

15 November: Council decision expected on footpath

3 December Tree week: 11am meet Lower Lodges ranger-led walk

12-3 Stanmer village -- festive fun and wreath-making

Church: currently in temporary use by Greek Orthodox church: Occasional events, see adverts

Museum: Winter opening: Thursdays 10-12 for volunteer work, open for groups by arrangement

Stanmer Rural Museum

The Stanmer Rural Museum displays an amazing variety of rural artifacts, with a reconstructed blacksmith's forge, one of the last remaining horse traves and all sorts of agricultural working and craft equipment. You can also visit the nearby donkey wheel house, where water was drawn to supply the village.

Location: Behind Stanmer House. Turn left by the church, at the top of the road leading from the Lower Lodges to Stanmer Village.

Opening times:

All year on Thursdays 10.30-12

Easter Sundays to October 1pm – 4pm

By arrangements for schools or other groups.

Wheelchair access to most areas.

Volunteers: If you would like to help in the museum in any way, just speak to any of the helpers when you visit, or email us.
